Marin moves across the country to start college, leaving everything and everyone from her life behind. Then her best friend visits during winter break, forcing her to face the truth of the tragedy she ran away from.
This was much more somber than I had expected. Marin runs away from her grief and avoids anything that may remind her of the tragedy she ran away from. She lives with her loneliness until her best friend visits and she finally faces what happened. The writing captures Marin’s feelings from lonely grieving to facing her past in order to move forward.
