I love good fairy tale, and I like even more when not everyone in the story gets a happy ending or a merciful punishment. That’s just not how it works in real life, and not all lessons worth teaching are pleasant ones. This collection of stories was very interesting. You can see where Leigh Bardugo got some of her inspiration for each one, and some have been mentioned by characters in her other books. The artwork that goes along with each one, growing as the story develops, was beautifully done and adds to each story.
