The Chaos of Standing Still by Jessica Brody

The Chaos of Standing Still
by Jessica Brody

Ryn has one unread text message on her phone. The last thing her best friend Lottie said to her before she died. As the anniversary of Lottie’s death is approaching, Ryn finds herself stranded at an airport accidentally swapping phones with a stranger named Xander.

While I’m no stranger to delaying grief, this wasn’t as difficult to read as I thought it would be. I didn’t think any of the characters were particularly likeable, and the plot kept swaying between a story of grief and a romcom but never really meshing together. It had its moments, but overall it wasn’t really profound.
