My brother had 2 knitting projects on needles. One was halfway done, so it was pretty obvious it was going to be a scarf, and I finished that one. The other one only had a few rows done, and was a bit wider, and I don’t know enough about knitting to guess what it was meant to be. So, I just kept knitting the way it was.
It became increasingly clear that this couldn’t possibly be a scarf, unless it was meant to be a rather wide scarf and I got loads more yarn. I finished it anyway, not knowing what else to do. Now, I have a knitted square? I may unravel it down the line and try for a hat, if I can figure out how to do that. For now, I have a knitted square that my brother got started and I undoubtedly did not finish correctly.
