Hi friends. I’m finally getting to read, write, and paint much more regularly, which has been a nice change of pace. Here’s what I’ve been up to the past month.
In Writing
I spent last month reading through my manuscript once again and taking notes on things that need improvement. It was a much different experience than my first read through after having written the first draft. For starters, my notes are a lot shorter this time around. Although it still needs work, I’m really happy with how this story has come along since I began writing it. Having a bit of distance from it, as well as the outside feedback from my beta readers, helped me see all the things it still needs. I’m excited to be writing for it again this month and really fleshing it out into something even better.
In Art
I’ve been painting regularly again, scheduling it in a few times a week to make sure I don’t neglect it. I learned that, while I no longer think I’m bad at scenery, it’s not something I prefer creating. I love landscapes in general, but when it comes to my own art, right now I definitely favor painting people and animals. I’ve updated my Art page with some newer paintings, and I also record all my paintings as time-lapses that you can watch at the bottom of that page, or over on my YouTube channel.
In Reading
If you read my post on Retaining What You Read, you’ll know the first half of October was a reading struggle for me. I did, however manage to get back into it during the second half of the month, finishing a couple books and five graphic.

In Other News
I’ve been playing video games again! This seems like a silly thing to be proud of, but I’ve always enjoyed video games, and I haven’t been playing any for a long time because, instead of resting on the weekends like I always tell myself I will, I just keep doing chores and housework eternally. Last month, I played a couple free, short games that I stumbled across. The latest episode of The Long Dark came out, and I really enjoyed playing through that and continuing the survival story that’s been in progress for quite a while now. I also revisited House Flipper, because I don’t do enough home repairs IRL.
I hope you’re finding time to do things you enjoy in between your own chores and projects.
