Quarter Year Crisis | Book Tag

It’s officially spring and I’ve been feeling a little behind on my reading goals, so let’s have a little quarter year crisis, shall we?

Original tag by Roisin’s Reading

How many books have you read so far?

9. A little behind where I’d like to be, but not as far behind as I thought.

Have you already found a book you think might be a 2022 favorite?

So far, my favorite books this year are Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and Solutions and Other Problems by Allie Brosh

Least favorite book of the year?

My least favorite book so far this year is Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey. It didn’t click with me and I ended up DNFing it a little over halfway through

Most read genre so far?

Fantasy. Over half of my read books have been fantasy

A book that surprised you?

Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb. I’m not surprised that I enjoyed it, but I was surprised by the ending. What a wild conclusion to a slow paced series

Book that’s come out in 2022 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?

I’ve been trying to keep my eyes on my own bookshelf recently, so no new releases have really caught my attention yet this year.

One goal you made that you’re succeeding at

Maybe it’s too early to say I’m succeeding, but I’m making more of an effort to interact with other creators in the book community. I tend to keep to myself and I’m working on being more social online. Slow progress, but I’ve had some fun interaction so far

One goal you made you need to focus on

Reading a book a week. On average, I’m usually close to it, but in actuality I tend to read a pile of books one month then only one or two the next. I’m trying to get my reading progress to be more consistent, but I could be trying harder

Doing this tag made me realize I’m not as far behind on my reading goals as I thought. It’s still early in the year, so maybe we don’t need to have a crisis after all. I hope you’re not having a reading induced crisis either.
