Book Unhaul

As I’ve been rearranging my shelves and trying to figure out a permanent location for them within the house, I’ve been pulling books off them. As lovely as a wall covered in books sounds, I only want to see books I really loved when I look at my shelves. So, here are some of the books I’ve decided I just don’t love enough to keep around:

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

I loved Nikolai in the Shadow and Bone trilogy, so I was really excited about this one, but I just didn’t love it as much as I had hoped to. I still plan to read the sequel at some point, but I don’t need this one on my shelves anymore

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green
Will Grayson Will Grayson by John Green

All of these were fine, I enjoyed them for what they were, but I don’t see myself ever returning to any of these or recommending them as favorites

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

I’ll never know why I had two copies of this, but for now I’m just going to keep the one

Dark Run by Mike Brooks
Embassytown by China Miéville

I ended up DNFing both of these. I don’t think either one is bad, they just weren’t for me, so I’d rather pass them on to someone who will enjoy them more than I did

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

I like the overall plot of this, and it’s an interesting magic system, but it’s not a series I plan to continue

Bartender: The Ultimate Cocktail Book

This wound up having more niche drink recipes than we would ever make at home, using really specific and oftentimes uncommon liquors. Maybe one day we’ll replace it with a cocktail book that better suits our tastes

Hopefully all of these books will find their forever homes some day, but they weren’t doing any good sitting on my shelves.

Did I get rid of any of your favorites?
