Top Five Books Set at School

It’s been a while since I’ve been in school, but for all the kids in my area, school’s out for summer. I’m not always a fan of the school setting trope, but I certainly don’t avoid books just on that point. Plus, there are plenty of types of schools that can be a part of a story. Magic schools, religious schools, military schools, normal schools. Lots of schools to attend in books. Here are five books set in a variety of schools:

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan Reads

Harry Potter
by J.K. Rowling

Hogwarts is probably the most well-known fictional school.

Red Sister
by Mark Lawrence

The Convent of Sweet Mercy, where little girls are trained to be killers by blade and magic.

Zombies Calling
by Faith Erin Hicks

A university student discovers zombies appearing around campus.

Ender’s Game
by Orson Scott Card

Battle School trains children in military tactics and simulated battles.

Before I Fall
by Lauren Oliver

After she dies, Samantha Kingston wakes up in the morning and re-lives Cupid Day in high school on repeat.

I’m not sure I’d want to go to any of these schools, but they make for great stories.
