Let’s play a game this week. I haven’t played this one in a long time, and never have I ever played a book specific version of it. First, the rules, as explained by the creator:
Never Have I Ever originated as a drinking game, also known as “Ten Fingers,” where a person would make a statement (like Never Have I Ever eaten dirt) and anyone who has done that action must put one finger down (and often drink). In this case, the tally of scores at the end decides the winner. That is, whoever has the most fingers up by the end. Now that that’s out of the way…

Never Have I Ever…read a later book in a series before reading the first book
I have, once. I read Peril at End House by Agatha Christie, which is actually book 8 in the Hercule Poirot series. Although the series is chronological, it’s not necessary to read them in order
9 fingers
Never Have I Ever…burned a book
Honestly, who does that
9 fingers
Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate
I usually avoid books I think I’ll hate and of the books I read and hated, I thought I would like when I started
9 fingers
Never Have I Ever…wrote a fanfiction about my favorite books
I’ve never written fanfiction
9 fingers
Never Have I Ever…loved a book when I was young and hated it when I got older
No, although I have different reading taste now I don’t think I’ve ever stopped liking a book I used to like
9 fingers
Never Have I Ever…dressed up as one of my favorite literary characters
I don’t think I have, but maybe that will be a project some day
9 fingers
Never Have I Ever…hated a book by an author I love
I have. I loved the Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver, liked a few more of her books after that, then Rooms was really not for me
8 fingers
Never Have I Ever…gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more
I don’t remember a specific instance, but my friends and I spent so much time in bookstores when we were younger, I’m sure this has happened
7 fingers
Never Have I Ever…read the end of a book before reading the beginning
I used to always do this. Just the last sentence, but that truly is the end so…
6 fingers
Never Have I Ever…read a book without the dust cover
I have, but I usually keep the dust cover on
5 fingers
Did I win? I don’t think I won. One hand up, one hand down.
How many fingers did you have up at the end?
