It’s not quite spooky season, but after the past couple weeks of swords and shields it makes sense we’ve arrived at bones. This week we’re looking for books with bones on the cover. It seems skulls are the most common version of that, but I’ve found a little variety on these covers. Here are five books with bones on the covers:
Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan Reads

Gideon the Ninth
by Tamsyn Muir
Lots of bones on this one, making up the bulk of the background.

If We Were Villains
by M.L. Rio
This cover features simply a human skull

Nettle & Bone
by T. Kingfisher
It’s in the title as well as displayed on the cover. This particular cover also makes use of bones to spell the title text.

King of Thorns
by Mark Lawrence
Another skull, although I’m not sure what it came from

Grim Leaper
by Kurtis J. Wiebe
A skull face and some (I think finger) bones on the sides.
What’s your favorite book with bones on the cover?
