It’s officially October and the fall festivities have begun. Last week I painted a hallway, because all I do these days is paint walls. And I found an egg farm nearby where you can see all the chickens hanging out outside. So many chickens! Big fan. I also finished reading four books.
Last Week I Finished Reading

Unseen by Chad Allen – an audio-only comic, cool story, cool concept, had a great time listening to this unique style of storytelling
Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi – such an intriguing look at last chances and closure and hope, I thoroughly enjoyed this book
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin – I’ve been putting off starting yet another long fantasy series, but I’m so glad to finally be reading this one. I loved the characters, I enjoyed the plot, I’m a little upset with some of the things that happened, but because I was invested in everything going on. I loved almost all of the Starks, but Ned is best boy. I’m excited to read the rest of the books that are out and patiently await the conclusion with everyone else
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim – this story was wild. The setup was great, then things slowed down a bit, but then they got crazy. There’s curses and demons, dragons and wolves, magic paper cranes and live ones. There are some tropey YA elements, but it was unique and complex enough of a story that it didn’t feel familiar or predictable
Currently Reading

Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames – I’m really enjoying this so far. I’m into the premise, I’m into the tone. Major dad fantasy vibes, and I like it
The Beauty of Darkness by Mary E. Pearson – I don’t know if I’m going to finish this, or at least I might postpone finishing it. It’s not bad, I’ve just lost interest in the series over time and my interest was only moderate to begin with
