Books Set in the Present

I read a lot of fantasy, set in made up places at made up times, but I still like to settle down with a story set in the real world at a familiar time. They depict real people that may resemble ones we know, in real places that we can visit, and having real experiences, usually. Books set in the present can stretch some possibilities and take us on some interesting journeys, whether they’re relatable or just make a great story.

Here are five books set in the present:

Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan Reads

If I Stay by Gayle Foreman

Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson

We Are Okay by Nina LaCour

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
