Manhunt
Michael Bennet, book 10.5
by James Patterson and James O. Born

Michael Bennett has a close call with his family when someone attacks the Thanksgiving Day Parade that sparks a hunt for whoever is responsible.

Part of a long, ongoing series featuring our main character Michael Bennett, this installment finds Michael and nine of his ten children at the Thanksgiving Day parade, a tradition that started with his late wife. Not having read any of the other books in the series, I didn’t feel like I was missing out on any backstory or prior events that were sufficiently explained as we went. When the parade is attacked and Michael and his children are nearly among those harmed, he sets his sights on finding out who is responsible and finding them, with a little help along the way.

A little noir detective, a little Die Hard, this story is a bit gruff and a bit cheesy. There’s action and crime-solving and a family man at the center of it all. It’s a short read with a few reveals and ultimately a fun time.
