A Highland Christmas
Hamish Macbeth Mystery, book 15.5
by M.C. Beaton

A Scottish Constable has plenty of work to keep him occupied around Christmas time.

A low stakes mystery that feels more like spending some time shadowing the Constable than the standard complex mystery centered around a single serious case. It’s set in a Scottish town that isn’t too thrilled about the approaching Christmas and the mystery kicks off with some missing Christmas lights. Things get more interesting as the Constable also checks in on a young girl and an old woman in town.

This story is short, cozy, and not very intense. I enjoyed spending time with the Constable as he does his work. Enjoyed the story, the characters, and the writing, and would recommend this for a little, low stakes Christmas mystery.
