The Christmas Mystery
Detective Luc Moncrief, book 2
by James Patterson and Richard DiLallo
French detective Luc Moncrief investigates art theft and murder on Park Avenue.
This mystery was odd in that the actual mystery was solved fairly simply and quickly, but the story continues on for a while after that point with things that have nothing to do with the mystery. I didn’t like the arrogance of the main character and the mystery wasn’t really engaging. Then the final third of the book is the two detectives going to France basically because they can and doing a bunch of stuff unrelated to anything. Maybe if you like the main character this is better, but it’s short and just fine.
