One Snowy Night by Jill Shalvis

One Snowy Night
Heartbreaker Bay, book 2.5
by Jill Shalvis

Rory needs to get home to her estranged family, but her only ride is from Max, a boy she has strained history with.

Centering on a mix of attraction and long-standing resentment, Rory and Max journey into a snow storm in Max’s truck with only his dog Carl there to alleviate the tension between the two. Some heavy things from Rory’s past are revealed pretty early on, and Max’s willingness to even spend time with Rory depends on keeping a strange promise to his sister.

While giving a lot less spice than I had anticipated, this still gave too much spice for my taste, but I’m a no spice kind of gal. Although a lot of the tension and lead up is described in steamy details, the actual hook up is over fairly quickly. I’m glad for that, but if you’re looking for a steamy read, this might fall a bit flat for you.
