The Christmas Train

Tom, a journalist, takes a train from D.C. to L.A. for Christmas where he runs into someone from his past.
A popular Christmas story, but I didn’t really connect with this one. I struggled to care about Tom as he travels across the country to see the girlfriend he didn’t seem to care about at all. When his ex, Eleanor, shows up, it’s pretty clear where this story is going to lead. While catching up with his ex, Tom gets to know a number of the other passengers on the train.
There’s a variety of people throughout the story, train facts, and a bit of tension when the trip gets dangerous as the snow interferes with the journey. While the romance is predictable, there is a twist at the end. Still, it wasn’t enough to make me fall for this story.
This one didn’t do it for me, but with it’s holiday popularity, if you like Christmas stories you might like it better than I did.
