Last week I squeezed in a couple final reads of the year, spent a few days away pet sitting, and came home in time to make a delicious New Year’s Eve dinner.

The Dragon’s Promise
by Elizabeth Lim
The conclusion to the Six Crimson Cranes duology. I enjoyed this duology, but I do think the first book was much stronger than this one. I had some problems with the pacing, but overall I really liked this story, the characters, and the world.
Demon in the Wood Graphic Novel
by Leigh Bardugo and Dani Pendergast
A graphic novel giving some backstory to the darkling from Shadow and Bone. Loved the story and the artwork is beautiful.
