Too many books, not enough time. The usual problem. Most of these books came out last year and I really want to get to them soon. They’re all fantasy, either fairytales or authors I’ve previously loved.
I will definitely probably maybe read these books this year.
Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan Reads

Illuminations
by T. Kingfisher
Rosa Mandolini must save her family and her city from the Scarling with her magical painting
This came out in November, and since I’ve loved everything I’ve read by T. Kingfisher so far, I’m looking forward to picking this one up.

The Book of Gothel
by Mary McMyne
After losing her mother, Haelewise seeks solice in the tower of Gothel
I love fairytale retellings, and villain origin stories can be really interesting

The Drowned Woods
by Emily Lloyd-Jones
Mer, the last living water diviner, finally has a chance to stop running from the prince she was bound to, alongside some unusual allies
A heist-style fantasy about taking down an abusive prince sounds like a fun time to me.

Thistlefoot
by GennaRose Nethercott
The Yaga siblings receive an inheritance in the form of a sentient house on chicken legs
I love a fairytale and I love a debut.

Grey Sister
by Mark Lawrence
Red Sister was easily one of my favorite reads of last year, and I’m so eager to read the rest of this trilogy
What book are you definitely going to read this year?
