We’ve gone from winter weather to summer weather in the span of a week. Such a silly region I live in. But that means it’s time to do all the yard work before everything begins growing too much. I’ve almost finished trimming down our still-far-too-large shrubs and got myself some things to get the garden started. Last year the wild animals helped themselves to all my sprouts. Hopefully this year I can protect them better.
Last Week I Finished Reading

Bad Cree
by Jessica Johns
A supernatural horror revolving around grief and family, I enjoyed this.
The Book of Gothel
by Mary McMyne
The story of the witch that kept Rapunzel in a tower. The first half of the book is fairly slow, then things take off once all the magic elements are introduced.
The ending wasn’t my favorite, but I liked it.

I tried, but I just couldn’t connect with this story. The main plot was interesting, but the story jumps around a lot in both perspectives and timelines. Paired with the over-descriptive writing that wasn’t doing anything for me, this one was too long to keep going and see how it all hopefully came together.
