I spent a lot of time outside last week. The weather was so nice, and I’m glad I got the chance because we’re finally getting all those April showers they promise every year.
I’ve read a lot already this year, and I’ve enjoyed a lot of what I’ve read, but I also feel like I’m still struggling with my goal of being reasonable with my reading plans. I get ideas for things I want to read a lot faster than I can read through them all. I’m trying to learn how to spread my reading plan out more. I’ve made a little progress so far, but I’m still working my way toward where I want it to be.
Last Week I Finished Reading

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries
by Heather Fawcett
I was on the fence about reading this, as fae stories don’t generally appeal to me, but I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I liked the writing and the characters and thought this was a fun story.
Nocturne
by Alyssa Wees

An interesting story with beautiful, lyrical writing. Although the writing suits the story, it’s a style that I don’t always connect with and I decided to put this one down.

Song of Blood & Stone
by L. Penelope
I liked the plot, world, and magic of this, but unfortunately there wasn’t a whole lot in the way of worldbuilding. A lot of the story focused on the romance and that part of the story read a bit juvenile despite the more adult scenes. There is a longer version of this, and I’m curious if that one has more worldbuilding added in.

I hope you had a lovely week

Some of those books look interesting. I’ll have to add them to my list. 😀
