Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.

In the past couple weeks I re-upholstered a chair I was given for my office. The old fabric wasn’t in bad shape, but it was a pretty dated pattern that was not to my taste. I’m really happy with how it turned out and I think it looks great now. I also spent some time doing more yard work. With everything growing so quickly now and the weather changing rapidly, I’m happy to have gotten ahead of some of the trimming and weeding out yard desperately needed. We’ve made quite a bit of progress between when we bought this place and now, but we’ve still got some work ahead of us before it’s where we’d like it to be.

Lands of the Firstborn, book 1
by Gareth Hanrahan

My most anticipated release of the year, this book did not disappoint. It had a lot of fantasy elements that I personally love while creating a story that felt unique and engaging. Looking forward to seeing where this story goes in the sequel.

Witch King
by Martha Wells

My second most anticipated release of the year, this book comes out at the end of this month. I’m so excited to be reading some of Martha Well’s fantasy after only having read sci-fi from her.
